In essence, Hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people.
Let’s delve into how you can create Hygge inspiration in your personal life and, if you are a property manager or owner, how you can create hygge inspiration around the property.
Cozy Common Areas. Let’s begin with creating a hygge-inspired DIY décor. If the building has a common area with a fireplace, transform the shared space with a fireplace makeover. Many budget-friendly options include repainting the mantel, adding decorative tiles, or incorporating a faux stone façade to create a warm and inviting communal space. Create warm and welcoming entryways with creative seasonal décor. DIY custom wreaths, incorporate seasonal artwork or install cozy seating areas. Hygge-inspired lounge spaces create comfort for residents.
Showcase elements like soft blankets, plush pillows and warm lighting to foster hygge-inspired ambiance in shared lounge spaces, encouraging residents to relax and unwind during the last cold month of winter.
